A new pattern for me

This yellowjacket pattern is really working well for me.I actually had a crappie come halfway out of the water and then actually jump.The light was getting low and it was halfway across the pond so I couldn't see it too well.I thought I had a good bluImageegill on.

That looks simpler than the bumblebee I did last week which worked well, going to copy yours if you don't mind.

I believe you can buy the foam cylinders pre made or glue foam sheets and either drill them with tubing or use a leather punch or shell casing and a hammer,which is what i do.

These work well for me in September here in Montana. The Yellow Jackets hover around the stream side vegetation and make their way into the water. Best on smaller streams but works well.

I got the yellowjacket bodies from Bill Skilton's USA-Flies in Boiling Springs Pennsylvania.There are 7 different sizes and these are medium.I just shape the head a bit and blacken it with a sharpie.A black hackle and that's it.
