I came across this Davie McPhail video, and as a relatively new tier, two things stood out: the use of dyed organza ribbon as a body material, and - especially - the simple method he uses to create both legs and wingcase with a single clump of pheasant tail barbs.

I suspect this is old hat to the experienced tiers here, but for folks that haven't seen it done,

Cool fly. I've used organza to make wings, but never thought of using it this way. I'l definitely give it a shot. One thing about Davy's videos that I've learned....definitely lower your expectations regarding your fly looking remotely like his do! ;)
