Thank you all for your comments. The lure (fly) is intended for largemouth bass and I haven't tried it out yet. I'm hoping that the pony beads keep that tail elevated from the lake bottom since they do float. Used Latigo Lace for the 'tail' and it absorbs water. Will likely be casting this with conventional gear using a bullet sinker ahead of its eyelet, rather than a 9 or 10 weight fly outfit.

a modified Semper Fly for Muskies. I don't own any saddle hackle long enough, so I substituted Farrar blend (UV Black & Bleeding Grey) for the long saddle hackles one is supposed to use.
Cheers!

Thank you sir. That muddler tie is my go to early am fly. Later in the day its the comparadun. They work very well on the de river system, and pretty much anywhere else I've tried them. Not pretty, but they work.

Thanks guys,
I have only been tying a month roughly but I've found it very fun and relaxing. I come home and tie for about an hour most days after work, nice way to unwind.
I was attracted to the Tellico because it is supposed to be one of the older Appalachian patterns-I can't wait to try a few out on some SC/NC trout.

Some all-synthetic Louisiana Mickey Finns I tied up last decade. I fiddled around for a time converting Tom Nixon patterns to synthetics. It was a lot of fun. My Pig Boats were darn effective.

Looks good, PP. I tie up to 5/0 muskie flies on an old model a. If I break one (and I have broken 1 so far) doing so i know I can get another or a knockoff for cheap!

Whipped up a batch of Wyatt's DHS, DHE (and SHE), and Wee Emerger, along with a few size 16 Stewart Black Spiders. The DHS and DHE/SHE have been doing well on a local wild brown trout creek lately. Sorry, I know this post is useless without pics. ;)
