So from my previous question I learned it is better to do several "light" layers of epoxy versus one to better control the epoxy amount.

So, when doing several coats, as an example. say I am using Flex Coat lite and I am going to put 3 rounds of epoxy, can I get an idea of how much to cut the finish? I have learned that when I want the that transparent look use 1/3 resin. 1/3 hardener and 1/3 Acetone for first coat and then non cut for second and final.

If I am going to put three "lighter" coats on do you always use this 1/3 1/3 1/3 mixture on every coat or do you ramp down acetone on second and third coats.

Lastly, just curious, for a normal build (non transparent silk) how many coats do most people put on the rod?

Thanks again everyone!!! LOVE this forum!

If I remember correctly, Springcreek posted quite the tutorial on building his rod, including thinning epoxy. You might try to find it.
