Can anybody recommend some affordable, soft glass blanks or kits for a second build. Ideally i would like guides to be included but have options as to grip and reel seat. Thanks

I really like the Proof components. They are a good value and the guides are second to none. Matt appears to have a component kit (grip, guides, reelseat) for blue halo blanks as well as for his own blanks. I don't see the blue halo blanks available on his site, but he has the component kits.

For the price, the proof blanks are nice, but the 7' 3wt I built is a very fast 3/4wt. It is a much more comfortable 5wt.
Here is my initial review. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57757&p=277859

Yea, my blanks would be a bit fast for what you are looking for. I do work pretty close with BH, so if you pick up one of their blanks I can put together a custom "kit" for you.

Lamiglas 843 made in USA direct from Lamiglas for $115 including shipping. Buy components from Proof while he has free ship for July 4th and great pricing/service to boot.

The Lami is a nice choice, a James Green NTS would be nice as well. It's what I use for my brookie fishing.
