Hi guys, I'm wondering if I can remove a W & M chrome uplocking screw reelseat by boiling like I did with my fenwick seat. Anything tricky I need to know about this seat? Thanks, Phil

Heat will work just fine. I've removed a few of the W&M seats using an alcohol lamp.

My experience is that, with factory installations on glass and bamboo, there is a full-length balsa wood bushing underneath the metal reel seat. Usually it does not take much heat to get the seat off. If you are going to boil it, just keep it dry in a plastic bag so the balsa does not get wet and warp and swell. Try not to mutilate the seat, it is worth a few dollars to restorationists.
