Hi Guys

I noticed in one of Andy's superb post he has a clamp type gadget to help him flex testing, inspired I decided to make myself one using what I had to hand.

Tried to follow the KISS principle keep it simply stupid !

Old clamp I had bit of free plastic pipe and silicone hose off cuts from work to help protect the grip, drilled a hole each side for a strap to stop reel/grip falling out (not fitted in this photo)

Works like a charm :) Hands free really helps

What do you use ????

Mine is very high tech. An old Christmas tree stand. It has three screw in eyebolts to clamp down on the base (trunk) of the tree to hold it. I prop the whole shebang on an angle and clamp a short length of PVC into it to hold the blank. That's it!

Hello
Nice going ! Now you gonna share my secretes again or claim them as yours.
No good deed goes unpunished !!!

A fishing rod boat gunnel clamped rod holder is all I use.
They go for under 5 bucks at any tackle shop.
I have a 1/2 dozen of them, when they aint in use in the shop they are out clamped to the QuityurrbitchinOr the SS Licqerrbox

For years I had an old fly reel screwed onto the wall of my shop. You simply put the rod and reel together, rod hung along wall horizontally. Had a swivel with a small weight (1/2 oz?) to put on tiptop, then I marked the wall. Had a lot of marks on my wall.
No real good ever came of this, and eventually the reel came down, now I grab a reel and a line and go cast in yard.
