I recently bought a bunch of Hardy Fibatube blanks at a reasonable price:
Image

Four blanks 7'6" #5/6 2 pcs. named "TROUT FLY", those are very dark brown coloured with dark gray spigots.

Such blanks are already fitted with cork handle and black aluminum reel seat.

I decided to keep handle and seat, as they are not too bad, and ask my friend Luky to assemble rod. Guides are Pacific Bay chrome and stripping guide is pale orange agate. Tread is ProWrap ColorFast Burnt Orange, in order to remind somehow the Hardy JET wraps.

Well another friend of mine saw my rod and rapidly "stolen"it.. :(
I think I'll have mine exactly that way. :)

The last two blanks are 8'0" and I was told they are rated for #5/6 line too. Colour is brown, same as my Hardy JET, and spigot is white. The stickers say "Fibatube Fibreglass Alnwick-England" only. I think I'll get headache deciding how to assemble those blanks. Any tip will be very welcome, and pictures too my dear friends :lol

That's a nice find. They will be great fishers. And in my favorite lengths and line weights too.

If you'd sell one of those 8' blanks to me there's one less to worry about...;)
Just kidding, the JET color way looks great imho.

Here is a black rod wrapped in burnt orange. It's Gudebrod burnt orange with color preserver added.Image
It looks a bit more orange in day light. I'm into the vintage Hardy rods. IMO, they're flat out good. For fishability they measure up to most any modern rod made.
NICE SCORE!
BTW, here's my black and orange next to a Hardy.

Thank you so much Gents. A reel seat, guides and threads are likely to arrive soon. I hope my friend Luky will turn handle and wrap up a couple of blanks for me; I'll post pictures for your comments.

I'm very excited because my friend Luky consigned me the Fibatubes rods this afternoon.
Some quick (and bad) pics of finished rods:

More details and better pictures, I hope, very soon.
