Never seen one of these. Is that a "panic button" on the back plate? Looks like a heavy reel...Guy isn't asking much, but not sure what I would pair it with...

that's not the panic button, but a nice Birmingham conventional-frame winding-plate reel - could be Reuben Heaton or Smith & Wall.

I should have mentioned your example is cool because its a bimetal - alloy frame plates with brass pillars and winding plate.
Hardy sold them as Hercules reels.
Heaton continued to make these right up until the war.

I don't have a rod for it, so for me it would be a cool reel for the display/shelf, but at $75 I'll probably hold off.
