We was having a yard sale and cleaning out the garage.. my wife says hey you want this old reel?
I turned around and said yes I do [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
Sometimes you feel like a winner it's cool when you find an old reel you thought was long gone
I cleaned it all up and switched it to left hand retrieve looking forward to using it again

Here are three that I've added over the past few months, a Medalist 1495, a Heddon Daisy 310, and a South Bend Oreno 1155.

The Medalist and Oreno were part of a lot of "beaters" I purchased mostly for those two reels. The Medalist was indeed in pretty rough shape but a good cleaning and some parts from One-Pfoot helped me bring it back to life. I believe its 1940s vintage?

The Oreno is in pretty good shape from what I can tell, a good cleaning and some lube and it should be good to go. I haven't been able to find much info on it, from what I gather it's essentially a rebranded Russell 1894. Anything anyone could share about it would be appreciated!

the SB version of the Russell is fairly rare - nice find

yes, the Medalist is 40s, and looks nice with the Pfoot upgrades

Thank you for the info on the SB reel. I’m not sure I have a rod to pair it with but I haven’t really tried it with anything yet. Despite the smaller diameter and weight compared to the Heddon, it’ll definitely hold more line.

Martin made the house-brand Hawthorne reels sold by Monty Ward's. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13968&p=146914&hilit=Martin+Montgomery+Ward%27s#p146914

Acquired a JW Young LHW Beaudex 3 1/4" narrow in 95% condition. Great 5-6 weight reel with maybe 10-15 yards of backing. Ordered a Onepfoot reel foot for it, needed on most rods I will use it on. When I get the new foot and install it, I'll take and post photos.

I just got a gem mint Sage 106M / JW Young... I have never seen one this clean. It's glorious.
Pics will follow when I figure out this new whole computer setup I just had to do.
