New guy here. Very glad to be part of this great group. I grew up in South Bend, IN, so some of you may be familiar with some of the products that my Paternal Grandmother helped assemble.

I recently acquired a Martin MM910. I have spent hours on the internet trying to get ANY information on this reel. It is a multiplier with a wide spool. I haven't quite figured out yet how to post pictures using Photobucket (even after reading the guide), but I'll keep trying.

In the meantime, if anyone has info on this reel, I would be very grateful.

Thanks, Al

honestly never heard of it, but I'm guessing it's a reel from the late 80s/early 90s. My MM 11 click-pawl multiplier is my favorite Martin ever

Instead of using photobucket, you probably want to try this using Imgur or a different photoserver.
First step is getting up a photo or two up for us.

Thank you bulldog1935. That is a very nice looking reel. Mine is a right hand wind, which is good for me since I'm left handed and cast with my left hand. It is a beast though, weighing 10.8 ounces. Probably designed for a spay rod??

I have uploaded pictures into Photobucket. I'm not sure if I did it correctly.

Thanks, Al

it works well enough, Al, that I can see what I need.
That is essentially the M-72 wedding-cake-drag multiplier with wider pillars and spools, and a beefier, counterbalanced handle - really nice.
pretty sure my dates above apply.
It's a rare collectible, and probably a great reel to fish.
When you're fighting a fish on a fly rod multiplier, you have to pump. The multiplier gives the fish leverage against you. Lift the rod, take up the slack, over and over.
The really nice thing about a multiplier is you can get your working line on the reel and the fish on the drag in literally a few seconds.

Thank you bulldog1935. Sorry about the extra pictures.

Well, I wonder if it is a prototype since there seems to be a void in information about the reel? Hopefully members here can provide some clues.

Thanks again, Al

you're welcome - no worries
If it had a shiny blue box, it wasn't a prototype, just a short run

No box, no paperwork, found it in a black cloth bag.
