The timing of my reinstatement here couldn't have been better. As part of the purchase of an early Phillipson P-80 an Airex 375 came as part of the package. Since I'm a southpaw, I'm fairly wedded to left-hand retrieve. Any chance of converting this reel?

I think I reshaped the springs on a couple of those for Les years ago and made it work in LHW

Ron: Thank you, and for so many things. If I can't figure it out I'll send it your way.

Ron:

After a Bulldog bath and a spring bend it's now a lefty.

Look over on my Phillipson P-80 post here, there are before/after pix of the reel there. It now appears that most of these reels were designed to be easily converted from the factory. I have even seen the factory instructions posted in the Bamboo rod forum archives and they state clearly that a LH conversion was designed into the reels. Supposedly, the single pawl reels are even easier.
