Hi guys, I just published my first blog post on my website. In it, I attempt to cover many/most of the issues we face in inspecting and buying reels. It will seem fairly basic to most of you perhaps, but I'm hoping it is useful to those wanting to become a vintage/classic reel dweeb like me ... ahem ... and others who hang out here 8)

Thanks to Bulldog, Chris and Rich for helping edit ... much appreciated!

Best,
Gary

Wow! How very well thought out and extremely detailed.
This should maybe get a 'pin' to the top so it can be really seen.

Just read your blog posting. Very useful information that will help anglers/collectors avoid frustration and /or litigation. Look forward to reading more on your blogsite.

Well done. I've been buying and selling fly reels on eBay for a couple of years, and I definitely learned a few points about things to look and ask for before buying, and language to use when describing a reel for sale. Nice work.
