I noticed Cabela’s has their latest edition CGR’s on sale . I have three of the originals . I was wondering if there was a difference in this generation vs the Originals ?
Mainly interested in the shorter ones . Gillchaser

The only model I can make this comparison on is the 6'6" 4 weight. I have one of the originals from 2010-2011 and I bought another about a year ago as a backup. The newer version is just a tad bit faster in my opinion, but it still feels great. I've had other CGRs, but the 4 weight is the only one that I can compare as far as older model vs newer model. FWIW I tried the new version of the 5'9" 3 weight earlier this year and I couldn't make that rod work. I tried several different lines, but I finally gave up and got rid of it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the current version on the 6'6" again if mine broke. In my opinion its a great little rod and at $50.00 you can't go wrong. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the review . The 5’9” was what I was curious about . I have the older version 5’9” and the 6’6” and prefer the 5’9”. I use it for walking the bank rollcasting as I work down the bank .
I’ll probably have another Lamiglas built . Not that I “ need “ another rod :) . Gillchaser
