Long story but I'm currently looking at T&T glass, particularly the 4wt's, but really haven't cast any of them. I have a smattering of Fenwick's (856, 857, 807, 75, 80 and owned an SA system 6) so I've at least an idea what's out there in the Fenwick world with respect to action. Are any of these similar to the Heirlooms or Lotics?

I haven't cast a Lotic, but the Heirloom has a lot of swing weight. More like the System6 or a Phillipson. Heavier in hand than the Fenwicks.

T&T makes a beautiful rod.

Lotics are a lot lighter. More like Epics and CTS. I don't think you can compare them to vintage Fenwicks. That's like trying to compare apples to beer.

I get the part about the weight, everything I've read about heirlooms makes it sound like they have cane-like heft, which I personally kind of like. What I'm most interested in is the flex profiles/action. I've read that the heirlooms can feel a little like a Dickerson 8013, so weight aside, wondering if there are any fenwicks that compare.

Hi, i don’t know the new Fenwicks but compared to the old FF i foud the T&T very different! Heavier and softer...
I fished a T&T Heirloom 7’6 3wt with a Rio LT DT3, it flexes down but i found it to not have enough power, for me not a rod for distance or big flyes... maybe a 4wt would be better with a 3 wt fly line...

Anyway, i certainly give here a personal advice and maybe another fly line would work better but i was very disapointed by the Heirloom 763 / i don’t find the bamboo feeling anounced = no backbone, no nerve, no soul and also feel heavy in hand ( and even in reality : for exemple the T&T 7’6’ 3wt needs a much heavier reel to be equilibrate than a Scott F2 7’7” 4wt...) i don’t find on it the « oiliness » of Scott or Fenwick...

Have cast a few Lotics and they're nice and super light. Don't have much experience with the Heirlooms but have had a few people I trust discourage me from looking at them seriously.

T and T is on a game changing roll right now, I would focus more on the Lotic.
