Picked this one up today, 6 weight in alu tube, looks unfished but not 100% sure - it certainly has extremely fresh cork. It has the 3M hangtag on the sock, tube is worn from storage but still has sticker etc...

Unsure of value, so any input is most appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your input.

If it is as you say one sold in may in similar condition on the auction site for $330. That one was "new" and the tube was perfect . So somewhere around 300 maybe?

You should fish your rod. It is not valuable. Enjoy if you love fishing!

Hard to say not knowing the length and all. I purchased what appeared to be an unfished 706 Phillipson Swamp Fox last year on the board for $120. It sat for a few weeks and the seller was willing to lower the price. Maybe you would've gotten more a few years ago when vintage Phillipsons were the rage but they aren't In vogue now. I oh think the shorter the better with Phillipson tapers and prices.
Like Todd said, you should take it out first to see what you think. A few finger prints won't really cost you. Phillipson made some really good rods and good is good no matter when it was made.

Many thanks for all the input. The rod is 7.5 feet. I will try it out, but already have way to many rods in this size to justify keeping another one.

Do you own any Phillipsons? That is reason enough to me to hold onto it and try it out. The SF76 is a fine rod. I own one and wouldn't sell it. In reading your post it sounds like you bought it to flip and want us to help set the price. The value is what someone is willing to pay for it as noted recently in another thread on the forum. Either way good luck.

I can see that view but if you don’t fish this one you won’t know if it would make you move a different rod down the line.

I would say a person would reasonably expect to get anywhere between 100 and 150 dollars out of it, maybe more depending on the individual buyer.
