Here's my ********* 8.6ft #5 finished by George Minculete.
Dusty sent me one of his last blanks.

I wanted a minimalist look that has similarities with what Winston and Orvis rods had from the past. Even the wraps are invisible! :)

Thanks George!

It is great to see any of George's rods. This one is as clean as it comes.

Thanks guys.
I'll match the rod, depending on my mood, with an Orvis CFO IV, Sage 504L and a Hardy St George 3".
Looking forward to cast and fish it.

Rod arrived today!
It casts so smoothly. It also casts a #4 line superbly.
The rod weighs 3.1 oz.
The one next to it is a Winston Stalker.

George,

The 8' 6" #5 is a better four weight rod in your opinion than an five? Interested in casting this model sometime as the length would be useful in many fishing situations. Additionally wondering how the ********* casts in relation to the vintage Winston shown. Nice photograph.

No it's a 5 weight. The softer tip allows casting a 4 weight a breeze.
The Stalker is a nice flexing (yet quite strong butt) rod that casts very nice with a #4 line. It casts a 'heavy-ish' #3 line also quite well. It's a brother to my Leetle Feller.

Hi, realy wonderfull! I’m in love with the white rod!
Maybe, It could look better again with the black reel and his flyline / same for the CFO with the orange flyline on the alluminium real seat of the brown one ;)
