Welcome. I moved your query to the collecting forum, hoping that will draw more attention from those who know the Fenwick line well. For starters, at 5 1/2', this may not be a fly rod, but someone will still probably be able to identify it. Descriptive information about the grip, reel seat, and guide configuration may be helpful, but we have some members who could have old Fenwick catalogs and be able to identify it by # alone. It will be interesting to see.

I think that the 1255 is a casting rod, possibly the mighty, fabled Lunkerstik. Does it have an offset grip and casting guides?

Yes, it's a baitcasting rod made by Fenwick in the 1970's. All examples that I've seen so far were rated for casting 1/2-1 oz. lures. They also all had the 2nd gen. Fenwick offset handle with straight cork grip as well as metal guides without inserts on the blank. They're nice casting rods, and in Japan sell for about double what would be paid for in North America.
