I was wondering around garage sales last weekend and picked up a pretty nice HI rod and reel. The rod is a 1407 1/2 and the reel is a 1106. Using this set up this weekend, but wondering if it's from the early 60's?

Thanks, Tony

If the rod is tobacco glass with a colorful reel seat it could be early 60's or late 50's. If it's a painted blank then maybe mid 60's. Even with pictures an exact date will still be a guess. I've had two of these rods and liked both of them. Mine were fine casters with a five weight.

Not your fault Tony. Photobucket's fault. Big time.

I don't know if it worked. Hitting the N. Branch with this little rod this morning.

I see it, thank you.

Nice old rod. 50's or 60's, I don't really know.

From the H&I catalogues I have I'm going with mid to late 50's. None of my catalogues are earlier than 1960. From the rods pictured where you can see a label they are all applied straight along the shaft, not wrapped around it. Strictly a guess.

While only a mid priced model they are nice rods. Enjoy it.
