When did Fenwick include metric measurement to their Flyrods?Example recently a "Vintage" FF837 8'3" (248cm} was listed at auction . How vintage are these rods?

Late '70s, early '80s - production moved overseas (Taiwan, I think) and length/line weights began to be printed in both standard and metric.

Yeah, they went to Taiwan when Berkley bought them ,probably the mid to late eighties. If it is glass though it would be before that. After Berkley bought it it was all graphite until recently when Pure Fishing brought back the glass. It might have been made in Niagara Falls in Canada which might explain the metric measurements.Fenwick had a factory there.

Actually,Lunker75 might be right. It could have been the early eighties when Berkley bought Fenwick.I remember the person that told me about it and that was 84 or 85.

Another interesting fact is that the owner of Berkley at the time was Ecko industries in Scarborough Ont.who made kitchen utensils. They are probably the Pure Fishing giant everyone knows about now.
