The Redington Zero looks about right. I balance my 7' Phillipson Master with a Pflueger Gem 2014 and my 7.5' Orvis Powerflex (Phillipson) with an Orvis Madison 6/7 (Pflueger Medalist 1494).

Yeah, I generally fish newer reels on my glass rods. I have several Abus, a few SA 45Ls, several Ross models. It is hard to find fault with the newer reels.
