Well I received my green 1470 "FFG" yesterday. Made Jan 1955. Its in OK shape. A few loose wraps and a couple scuffs. It had a loose reel seat that I removed, cleaned and just now glued back on. Works very smoothly compared to my 1280. Ferrules have a nice pop and fit dead straight.

Its 7'9", hollow with no balsa core. The top is noticeably translucent, but the bottom is a bit thick to let light through without using a flashlight.

The 2 sections arent exactly the same length either. The positioning in the photo exaggerates it.

I think its because of the swiss ferrules. The top is the exact length of my other 7'9" and the thread wraps are identical to the others. I'm confident it has not had a broken tip

Thanks folks! I just strung it up and I think its going to cast nicely.

It came with 5 other rods of varying desirability. Of note a barely fished 8'3"deluxe heddon pal with gold plated (or colored) stripper, and bronzed snake guides. 9 in total. Its missing the lowest top section guide.

It liked a DT 6. Definitely a faster action than the balsa core rods.

I really like the translucent green. Is that a common color?

No not really. Don't know how many they made but were only made like that one year 1955. Fairly uncommon I think but beautiful for sure.......
