does anyone know the vintage? and maker of this LL Bean glass rod?

Marked 8' 2pc 6wt, made in USA, dark brown painted blank, tip over butt ferrule with oversleeve on the tip section. The thread wrap on the oversleeve is 4 inches long! Is that typical of rods of this vintage? It seems overkill and makes the rod seriously tip heavy. As marked, it throws a 6wt DT -- the trick is finding a reel beefy enough to compensate for the heavy front end.

Looks like early Orvis graphite but not sure if they ever produced rods for them.

I thought the early Orvis graphite rods had gray blanks, no? This is a dark brown blank.

I had my finger on the bid now button but decided to hold off because I couldn't figure out who made that rod for them, so I am curious as well. Most of these older Bean rods were not propriety tapers, simply well known blanks with a different color scheme. The double LL glass rods I have had included Phillipson Master(Bulldog now owns it) and a Cortland F2000. Obviously this rod is neither of those.

I can't help out much, but my brother was given a rod similar to this by my dad in the 90s but I believe my dad got it at the second store in Freeport so it could be from an earlier era (80s).

Thanks guys. This one has me stumped too. Here are a couple more pictures.

All metal downlocking reelseat

The two sections joined -- tip over butt ferrule and oversleeve. The blank is dark brown and looks to be unsanded as there are well defined ridges, forest green nylon thread wraps.
