I almost bought a small net last month when I was in West Yellowstone at Blue Ribbon Flies. It was a Wolf Moon's Nine Mile model, I believe. I need a smaller net so it will fit in the box of fishing/camping equipment that I mail out West prior to my vacations each year. I expect I'll have that net before I go back out there.

And I agree, that pic is very nice in it's entirety!

Thanks, Tom. yes - Japanese.
Ive been lusting after a curved-handle Japanese-style net for several years now.
Finally bought one a few months ago.
Work of art.

Really like the net; do you have a source?

Can't beat Wolf Moon, they make killer nets and they're all made meticulously by hand right in the middle of north central WI.

Here's a dumb question: when you refer to "small" net are you talking about the actual size over all, the opening size, or...?
Whichever, what constitutes a "small" net? Thanks...

lovely..

I refinished an old Brodin a friend gave me and put a new bag on it. First fish into the newly finished net was probably the biggest fish I'll ever see in it..
15" net opening, will fit a 25" fish if you pray hard enough, I find..

Seriously, I love nets (the OP's included), but never seem to use them, although I do wear a Japanese collapsible Damo like this one: [url]https://dragontailtenkara.com/2017/04/daiwa-one-touch-folding-damo-tenkara-net//url] on my belt, just in case.

Youse guys is a bad influence! Saw the small nets with the curved handle and just had to have one; Streamwalker Native currently on order. Then of course I also had to have a t-shirt, and a patch, and a couple stickers...sigh.

That is a nice net and I want one. I see the bag is nylon though, is it knotless and fish-friendly? Their other nets use rubber bags.

A big net makes the small fish seem even smaller. Mr fish is very comfortable and very relaxed in the wide open space. If we are trying to go the distance not to traumatise the fish then a big net seems like a more logical choice. Not pretty but effective:

Fully agree giogio, my big creek net is larger and both have a flat bottom which facilitates easy access for hook removal. The trout in my photo was caught in a little neighborhood creek, for sure a holdover from a Memorial Day children’s fishing contest.
