I’ve always been a Sage fan.

As the years went by and the Sage rods became faster I discovered fiberglass flyrods and most of my Sage rods ended up with new owners.

After a lucky visit at a fleamarked I got my hands on a SFL 476 - and now a few years later the 476 got company :)

Image

This season all my trout fishing is done together with SFL 476, 580 and 686.
I will post some photos from my trips here, starting now.

I just returned from one of my favourite streams, and the SFL 580 is perfect on this mountain stream.

There where nice hatches of several different mayflies, but the trout insisted on small midges.

I had a great first day with exciting dryfly fishing.

The last day I witnessed an amazing hatch and the trouts where rising like crazy.
I figured this would be like stealing candy from my children, but ( as many times before ) I got skunked big time.
Fortunately the scenery is beautiful and there is always another day :)

I’m leaving for a new trip in a couple of weeks - new report follows.

Regards Gard

Just gorgeous scenery and trout. The more I see and hear of Norway, the more I'd like to get over there someday.

What a great collection of Sage rods. And they're glass as well. Did sage make those blanks in house or where they made by someone else?

I always keep an eye out for these but they're always just out of my reach, However, I'm enthusiastic about glass rods, so I'll find one someday.

Wow, nice! Is that a factory 476? I have built one if those blanks, and owned/fished most of them. But I have never seen a factory 4wt SFL...

Nydelig!

Nice collection/pics.
I still have a Sage SFL 676-4 & a sage SFL 476 in the factory socks/tubes in near mint condition. Someone made me an offer on my SFL 580 that I couldn't refuse :)

I’m afraid to run into 789 SFL, or I might have to buy it. They are all nice rods.

Hei Christian.

The 476 is not a factory build, but a build from a blank. I picked it up at Norwegian fleamarked and the build was not top of the line.
I have replaced the reel seat and the guides and it turned out better then before.

I remember your post from the 476 build you made - amazing.

Again, thank you for all the nice comments.

Gard
