Well, we had almost gotten rid of our snow, the trout streams were dropping, the water was clearing.... and then another 12+inches of snow happened - snowing all weekend long. C'mon! We were having epic caddis hatches this time last year! Sure, it was a good weekend for getting stuff done around the house, but that got old quick. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," right? About the time that cabin fever set in really bad, my wife said, "fine, why don't you just go fishing."

She said that right after she took this photo of me.

Off I went into the blowing snow, but it felt good to get out!

Oblivious to Driftless etiquette, these two kept high holing me all the way up the river! I don't think they were from around here. They looked Canadian to me.... :lol Probably enjoying our balmy weather.

Some nice trout came out to play!

Obviously I need a bigger camera phone!

May 12th, we are having a Kinni Mini Clave, see details in the Welcome section and join us! We will be snow free..... I think....

Looks a lot like our April. Way to get out and get some fishing in though.

I was worried about you. I guess for no reason, because nothing mother nature conjures up keeps you from getting the fish! Nice fish, good job. Bet it wasn't too crowded.

No need to worry about me Newfy!

No crowds. I didn't see anyone else at the access points I drove past to get to the stretch I wanted to fish. Just me, my two Canadian friends, a handful of mallards, a rooster pheasant, and some Red Wing blackbirds. No plastic hatch (kayaks and canoes) materialized either. Come to think of it, maybe this weather ain't so bad?

Nice outing, and just the cure for a "Heeeere's Johnny" moment!

I got high-holed by a couple of geese yesterday, too, plus one plastic floater. But I don't think these geese ever saw Canada. Our local geese don't migrate, they commute.

Hopefully it won't melt too quick, I'm pushing for a Sunday outing. Hmmm. I gotta buy my license.

Another 6+ inches of snow on Wednesday. I guess you gotta look at the bright side-at this rate the snakes wont be out till June

Some places over here got as much as 33 inches. That's in addition to the foot or so that was already on the ground. More coming this week too. This is flat out insane for April. Inland opener is May 5th and this will be the first time I can remember an opening day with snow on the ground.

Nice pictures and good on you for braving the weather.
