After some discussion with Chris Barclay we have tentatively decided to host a Montana Clave the third weekend of August which is the 18-20th. Location isn’t set however I’m leaning towards ********* at one of the fly shops with big lawns. August can be my favorite time of year with attractors, especially hoppers being the main theme. Potentially great fishing on the bigger famous rivers with tons of awesome fishing on the smaller waters. Hope this is plenty of notice to start planning a trip to Montana.

Wasn’t planning on combining it with the Bozeman Bamboo Gathering, all glass rods, especially collections as good as yours should be brought. Chris already has a solid formula for a Clave after his Driftless events and we plan on doing it a lot like those.

Laffin. I was expecting it to be in the Driftless again this year! I was looking forward to seeing that part of the world! Dunno what my vaca plans are yet for 2018. I usually head for Montana unless something special is planned. And that's a tad earlier than I usually go, but assuming I come out West again next year, I think I'll just move my vaca up and try to make it. Gonna depend on work, though. I always take my primary vaca over Christmas, so my Western vaca is secondary and depends on what my co-workers do. I'll have to see.

I doubt it Tom ;)
But seriously, my last visit to Montana was in 2005 so it has been long overdue...

Me looking for a rise on the Missouri
