Just curious if any one else on here is from, or fishes Vermont? I seem to be the one and only fly fisher in my neck of the woods.

Cool, I was starting to think I was the only one. What part of the state, I'm up on the border.

Very cool! I grew on St.Albans Bay, there wasn't any fly fishing going there when I was a kid. But there's quite a bit going on now. What part of the lake do you fish? I usually hit the Missisquoi Delta for pike and musky.

Nice! I never made it out on the big lake this year. Every weekend I had time to drag the boat over there, it ended up either storming real bad or there were gale warnings on the lake. Too bad really, I have a brand new 9 wt I wanted to try out in Lapan Bay for some of the monster pike over there. But with the way the winds and waves were on the Inland Sea this summer, that would have been a long rough ride.

Yah it is! I usually drop my boat is St.Albans Bay and make the run out around Hathway Point, going through the cut in the Burton Reef. With a strong SW wind there the waves can stack up to 6 feet plus. My boat can do it, and I've done it more times then I can count, but it FREAKS my kids out big time. Just not worth it, so I spend more time in the Missisquoi Delta.

Well since you guys are from the area, I drove by Lake Memphremegog on occasion as I passed through the area. I always wondered how it fished and if there were any trips worth checking out. Don't see it so much anymore...

That lake is know for lake trout and salmon, but also holds bass and pike. The rivers the feed it's southern end....The Black, Barton and especially the Clyde are truly exceptional fisheries. Salmon, steelhead, big browns and nice wild brookies can be found in all 3.
