Deep within the granite peaks of the White Mountains there lies a stream. The lifeblood that wells up from the depths provides cool mountain water to its native and wild residents. Its a very special place that contains nothing but some of the most magnificent brook trout that possess a color that rivals the sun in its autumn glory.

Such a place deserves to be fished with a rod fitting of its residents. Its time to take the Yomogi out for a walk and sling some bugs.

Spectacular! Really nice photography. Those fish are amazingly beautiful. They're so colorful now that I can't imagine what they look like when they take on spawning colors in the fall.

Thanks, glad you liked them!

The reel is a pflueger progress, the 60 yard model.

Incredible pictures. I have the same Yomogi and love it. Also, the Bomber has become my go to fly in small streams.

Agree, the bomber is a great fly. Its so bushy and durable and catches fish like mad, no floatant needed.

I also had a lot of fun with the downing hornberg, another very versatile fly that can be fished no wrong way, wet or dry.

I've had great luck with the Hornberg over the years. Fish it as a dry, then like a soft hackle on the retrieve, awesome fly.

Another outstanding report. While I love fishing the Driftless there's just something about those small moutain streams. Thanks for sharing.
