Anybody have a chance to cast these side by side? Interested in how they compare.

Which color Kabuto and which color Epic would you like to compare?

No, not a bit but those two rods aren't a bit a like either to the point I don't get the original question except that the last time I tried to help Ruff Hunter out about vastly different rods, he wasn't actually interested in how they performed, he was interested in how they looked. I just figured he was asking how they looked next to each other again and tried to help him out by asking for some more information.

Just trying to help but I see you decided to bring your PM self out to the masses.

So perhaps you offer the new member some constructive help, and describe the differences

Really! We're talking about fishing rods here. This seems to be more like a thread on clarks site.

No comparison....much different rods.

Kab is much slower and deeper bending. The Epic not so much... more tippy.

Besides, one is a 3wt and the other a 4wt

Can we move on now?

I already said and Bushog agreed. There is no comparison. One is a 3wt and the other is a very strong 4wt. And there is no need to cast them side by side. They don't cast at all alike. You may as well ask if anyone has cast a 7.5ft 4wt Morgan alongside a Silafex 322975 and ask what the differences are. That's why I thought he was talking about cosmetics like he did in another thread. They are both pretty rods. I thought he was asking about performance last time and gave what I thought was sound advice to him. He said no, he wanted to know what was the nicer looking rod and in a PM he said he that he didn't appreciate my thread. I thought I would try to make amends on this thread, and it blew up. Sorry you got roughed up Ruff! It's obviously not too hard to do.

Kab's rods are generally underrated for line wt, so I suspect that the 8033 is a 4wt. If it is a true 3wt I'd like to know form those that cast one.

Epics are generally underrated for line wt as well, however the 8' 4wt Epic is more true to weight than any other Epic I have cast.

They are quite different. I see why "how they compare" would invite more info than only casting. I see why the post could be intended as casting only.

The specific interest could be clarified in subsequent posts. Responses need to be about the rods, not the posters offering information, trying to clarify, or needing clarification.

"Thanks but I'm interested in . . . . " is all that is needed.

Or a new query and series of responses. If asking a question, try to avoid arguing with someone who doesn't say what is hoped for.

Individual squabbles (edited out for the most part, now) if worth bothering about at all, are for private message. They don't add to the discussion, which others read out of interest in the rods, not the squabble.

Nothing more here at least.
