I found two classic fenwicks this spring and have been fishing them periodically.
one of which is a 7 foot for a 5/6 line. Well I do not own a 5 or 6 weight line but do own a 4 and a 7. I tried the 4 and it worked "ok" but I didn't feel the rod load. So yesterday I went out again to harass the gills and bass with the little rod. This time I used a 7 weight line and I feel that the rod liked it. I could feel the loading and the casting was much better. the little 7 footer is fun to fish- it was built in 1963 so when married to my medalists, there is a bit of nostalgia when I fish these old Fenwicks.

Those Fenwicks have a nice progressive flex which work with a wide range of lines. I'll bet it works really well with a 6 wt though.

Have been fishing a ff756-4 with a 5DTF, I have lots of reels with 4 and 5 wt. lines, none heavier. Rod fishes very nicely, but suspect it would like a 6 more.
