Those pictures put a smile on my face. I haven't been out fishing all year, but this was a nice reminder of what's waiting for me. Oregon brook trout love to smash a Royal Wulff, too. Who knew?

On a side note, what do you mean by "TR" ?

Not my post, but I think that stands for "trip report," and a darn fine one at that.

I enjoy big western waters, but those little streams and the gorgeous fish in them are what it's all about for me. Fishing always seems more intimate and personal in such locales.

"TR" stands for "Total Relaxation" ... even with the long hike back up to Skyline Drive, i.e., anything beats work !!!!!!

That's a perfect day in my book and it reminds me that I need to visit my sister in South Central PA. And I'm a fan of anything Coachman too.

How do you like those Hoka boots?

I switched to those last fall and absolutely love them! I even bought a pair of low-tops for casual wear.

Hoka shoes/boots are like pillows for your feet. I can hike in comfort all day.

Thanks everyone! Hiking for brook trout is where it's at!

One of the things that makes fly fishing so great is the physical effort required. Whether it is hiking to a stream, walking the stream bank, standing in the current, or evenstanding in a boat, you are exercising your arms and legs. All day long. And you get to do it in the beautiful places that fish choose to live in. What a sport.

Good lord what some pretty fish you got there! And the scenery wasn't half bad either!
