I just was able to link to a photo in my library as in the old days.

Don't know if the old pix that were blocked here earlier are showing again.

Here's one I just linked.

Quoted from a news story about a month ago:
"The new plans are:
Free: Photo sharing and ad-supported storage only. No third-party hosting.
Basic: 2 gigabytes of photo storage and ad free hosting for $2.49 a month
Intermediate: 20 GBs of photo storage for $3.99 a month
Expert: 2 terabytes of photo storage for $8.99 a month
Add third-party hosting to the intermediate or expert plans for $2.49 more per month.
The limited time offer plan for $1.99 a month includes 10 GBs of storage and third-party hosting. When the offer ends — and no date has been set as the company is monitoring customer response — users who choose to stay with the company must pick one of the other plans. Annual plans will be discounted."

I thought it was interesting that they have a CEO and a CFO for only 10 employees.

I just downloaded the Imgur app. Very well thought out in terms of sizing and being able to select the size thumbnail for a forum. Once you learn the simple steps, Image sharing is a breeze. I am new to it but so far quite impressed.

I didn't appreciate the kidnapping and extortion of my photos from Photobucket.

I totally agree. I didnt appreciate my photos being held hostage for ransom.
Photobucket can upgrade to full service for free and i wont ever likely use it now.

I deleted all of my hosted photos & cancelled my account when they went to a fee based model.

I haven't bothered to seek out a replacement and found out like most things I am forced to give up, I can live without posting photos.

Turns out that's the usual way startup tech companies do it. They typically try to set themselves up so that they can rapidly grow really big, though only a small percentage ever do. It's also a form of "title inflation" as well, I think. That way, the folks with the titles can put "executive officer of [nn] successful tech startups" on their resumes...
