I had a great time. It was really good putting name's to faces.
BTW Dusty's new 805 is fantastic!

X1 - great to meet folks. I know I missed some there and apologies.
On a side, Tuesday evening saw 5 grizzlies, two at 50-75 feet, five elk on the skyline, four wolves on the skyline a ridge over, and heard a pack of coyotes. Thanks four the tip Mark!

Great photos by James, Dusty. I had a great time at the clave. Even though it was a long drive it was definitely worth it and I can’t wait for the next one. As others have said, it’s nice to put some more faces to names.

I have to say that your Barclay 70p, the bottom rod in James’ first photo, was my downfall. I haven’t thought about buying a new glass rod in a very long time but that one really turned my head. I couldn’t stop looking at it and later couldn’t stop thinking about it. From Chris’ website I knew that the 70p’s were extinct but a miracle happened. Later that evening Chris posted on Facebook that he was taking the last two 70p’s out of the vault to build up. Well ...

https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP ... ZzeGZQWlhR

Chris is shipping it on Monday so it will beat me home. I’m happy that Chris sent the photos to tie me over until I get my hands on it.

Duff, great to meet you. I have his 70p in stout - one of my favorites. Congratulations Sir!

This was an amazing event and experience. Now that I'm home, I'll have a lot more to say after I get some sleep tonight. Suffice it to say, I am incredibly grateful to Dusty and the others who participated in leading the Clave.

The fact three of my dearest friends traveled from Pa and Virginia to support a recent friend from Montana speaks volumes! Dusty is young rising rod force, passionate but cutting edge, Duff is simply the best of us “old” generation. BobHa , my finest moment was I shook his hand in The Feather Hook. Mike Mcfarland the best!
My point is these events bring together a group of guys that are incredible, I plan to be there next year, I welcome those here to Central, Pa!

It was truly "classic" in every way. Outstanding weekend by Dusty and his Folks!
Always great to put a face to the name, too.
A pleasure to meet everyone.

Bob, those are just abnormally well-developed abdominal muscles from casting fly rods so much. I am blessed with them too. :)

Here is my clave souvenir.  I was blown away by Mike's new 6wt that he brought along and he just happened to have a blank for sale there.  Sent it out to my good friend and fellow forum member, Lanny Derose and it arrived Here in Vermont yesterday.  Schoolies stripers in the spring, fall run landocks on the Clyde.Image

Very nice! I’ve bought a couple of Lanny’s builds (Epic 580, ********* 865) and I really love the work he’s done!
