Newby here. I only own one glass rod, a Browning Silaflex 8' 6/7, the second fly rod I ever bought. Found it in the basement of an antique store amid some junk they didn't think was worth putting out for sale; I think I gave $20.00 for it, in original bag and plastic tube but missing the cap. Never fished it much as I soon got the graphite bug, but lately I've been into some blue collar bamboo rods and have been thinking about that old Silaflex there in the back of the rack. I do remember it would really throw a bass bug!

I was referred here for info about a South Bend reel I recently picked up; will post about it in the reel forum. Anyway, just what I needed: another fishing forum to look at when I ought to be working !
