Hello from this new member in southwest NY's Steelhead Alley. I've joined this forum as part of an effort to help my long-time best friend and flyfishing buddy, who is now into advanced dementia.

He wants me to sell several glass flyrod blanks for him. 2 of these are, I believe, Phillippson...but there are no markings on these 2 pc. blanks whatsoever.
Where can I go to get objective opinions on their value?
Anyone here in this group?
I have posted a pic on Imgur to show the distinctive male ferrules on the butt sections. One blank is "coffee" colored, the other is an olive very much like The Orvis Golden Eagle color...both are 2 pc., and are 8' 0" long.

Thank you for any help you can provide,
Paul

Welcome, prm387! Sorry to hear about your friend. Terrible thing.

You'll no doubt be able to learn what you need to know about the rods here. Feel free to post pics, as many would like to see them irrespective of specific interest. We just like to see the great old, and new, rods and reels.

Thanks, Tomah.
I posted a pic of the 2 glass rod blanks that I believe are Phillipsons. They're both 2 pc., 8', and have no markings whatsoever on them :( :eek I'm looking for some sort of reasonable selling value. Anyone?
Thanks,
Paul

Thanks for the kind welcome, Tomah!

Two of the blanks my friend has are most likely Phillippson blanks. They have no markings on them whatsoever...but are clean with no damage to the blanks or the finish.

One person has said that he thinks the reddish-brown one appears to be a CA-80, rated for a 6/7 wt. the other looks like a Phillippson Epoxite, and these olive blanks were used for Orvis' Golden Eagles. Link to pic is below...

Do you have any feel for or opinion on their value?

Thank you,
Paul

Hi Ray,

Thank you for offering to help. But, I'm unable to use Photobucket yesterday or today to attach any pics to this Fiberglass Flyrodders Forum message. I could send you plenty of pics if you contact me using the PM or email buttons at the lower left.
Thank you for offering to help!
Paul
