Thanks to all on this forum for the knowledge shared here. I started with a yard sale find ff755 with a broken tip and Martin MG-7. My mother picked the combo up somewhere in rural Georgia and it sat in her basement for close to 10 years. One day I rediscovered it and decided to repair the tip with a sewing needle stent and fish it. Even with a repaired tip it was a sweet rod. Since then I've played around with Featherlights and accumulated a few more Fenwicks:
ff605 x2 ff705 x2 ff706 ff75 ff75-4 the original ff755 ff756 ff756-4 x2 ff806 x2 ff806-4 ff855
Most of these I pair with a Martin (I like an MG-3 with 6'-7', MG-7 for 7'6", and 67 for the 8' up). Some day I might thin the herd, but want to make sure the kids are covered too. It's tough to decide which one I like the best and my favorite can change monthly, so thinning will be tough. I've also done a little rod building with a lot of guidance from the pages of this forum. I learned a lot on that project and I have a lot of respect for those of you that build rods that are truly functional art. I'll try to find some good pics to post soon. Thanks to all..
