Aurelio - what do we do about licenses? Can you issue them or do we get them independently? Roy

Roy , for NM. You can get them here in town and CO. We can stop in San Louis on the way to the ranch......Went up on the ranch 2 days ago to check out one of the smaller streams with a friend of mine and we ended up with 10 wild browns and one cuttbow half the fish were in the 16" range. The runoff has not started yet on the ranch but should be in great shape for the clave.......aurelio

Hi Aurelio,

We are about 5 weeks out and really looking forward to this. Quick question about arrival time on Friday, July 14th, when should we plan on arriving? Mike (Mikeyb1125) and I will be driving together from Colorado Springs.

Regards,
Robert

Roy,bring some stuff you can see well. They like elk hair any stimulators, caddis in size 12,14.Royal Wulf 14 Parachute Adams and Beatis size 16 and 18.Some beadhead nymphs size 14 pheasant tail, green caddis, hairs ear.Got out for the fist time on the Ranch yesterday on one of the smaller higher streams due to some runoff and we did good ,caught about 20 rio grande cutts on Goddard caddis and stimulators. The larger streams on the ranch should be ready when you guys get here. The Costilla ,Comanche and Ponil by me are in great shape now.......aurelio

That video captures some beautiful country and fish.

I think they were chasing Rio Grande and Pecos strains of cutthroat trout. If my memory serves me correctly, there is even another strain of cutthroat near Aurelio's place- the Canadian strain in the streams east of Aurelio that flow south & east like the Ponil.

You are gonna have a great time fishing those waters and you cant ask for better hosts.

Greg

Aurelio - thanks again to you and MJ for being great hosts. Great food and fellowship. By the way, took the cap off the Scott F2 and slipped in a long stent to stiffen up the butt, but inconclusive. Tried some different lines that seemed to help. I look forward to doing it again. Roy
